FAQ

Why should we use silver disinfectants and antiseptics while there are many agents based on isopropyl alcohol, ethanol, hydrogen peroxide, chlorine and its compounds?
⠀⠀⠀ First of all, because of the nasty odor of these agents, most of which irritate the mucous membranes of the eyes, respiratory tract and skin, corrode metal and other surfaces and tissues, destroy and discolor them as well.
⠀⠀⠀ According to the article «Silver agents: yesterday, today and tomorrow» (Pharmaceutical Journal, 2006. No. 5, p. 45-57), Olekasandr Shcherbakov and others disclose the bactericidal and bacteriostatic effect of silver ions on known types of bacteria, their effect is 1500 times higher than concentration of phenol (C6H5OH) and in 3.5 times higher then mercuric chloride (HgCl2). They reveal the effect of colloidal solutions of silver on influenza viruses «A», «B», «Miter» and «Sendai» and describe the fungicidal action of silver against the pathogenic yeast Candida albicans and many other properties.
⠀⠀⠀ It should be noted that on March 13, 2020, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) included silver sanitizers the list of substances that can fight the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Do silver ions tend to accumulate in the body and are they toxic?
⠀⠀⠀ A famous scientist and a Nobel laureate Robert Seiner called the daily intake of silver medications as an acquisition of a second immunity. Ukrainian scientist, academician Leonid Kulskyi was the first to develop a method of disinfection using silver ions and proved its efficacy at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 mg/l, which does not affect the antimicrobial and antiviral human immunity, the blood cell ratio and its protein formula, the liver and spleen functions, as well as the formation of conditioned reflexes despite its long use.

⠀⠀⠀ Scientists have proved that after taking, inhalation or absorption of silver compounds, it excreted from the body naturally, leaving up to 10% of the total amount received in the human body.

It is known that silver belongs to the group of heavy and toxic metals. Why do you disinfect drinking water with silver ions?
⠀⠀⠀ The WHO Guidelines for drinking water quality (4th edition, 2017), page 457 indicates that the acceptable level of silver for disinfection of water is 0.05 mg/l. This amount of silver ions does not have any negative impact on human health and does not cause diseases such as argyrosis. At the same time, silver ions are also used to maintain the bacteriological quality of drinking water. In that case, higher level of silver is acceptable - up to 0.1 mg/l. According to the NOAEL standard (No observable adverse effect level), with a daily use of silver water for 70 years, its total amount will be safe for humans up to 10 g. Taking into account the fact that silver water contains no more than 0.025 mg/l of silver ions for daily use, then no more than 2.5 g of silver will accumulate in the human body for 70 years of life, which naturally excretes from the body. ⠀⠀⠀
